If you are an undocumented student and meet the requirements, you will only pay in-state tuition rather than out-of-state tuition at participating Colorado colleges. And, you may receive the College Opportunity Fund tuition stipend!

Colorado ASSET allows eligible students that do not have documentation of citizenship to pay in-state tuition at Colorado's public colleges and universities. Below is a list of items to help you get started with your college planning.

1) Discover which career interests you and what program/major after high school it requires.
2) Match program of study to Colorado colleges that offer that program.
3) File the FAFSA. Review FAFSA information for ASSET and DACA here.
4) Review eligibility requirements for in-state tuition.
5) Apply and get accepted to your Colorado college(s) of choice.
6) Work with the college's advisor to determine eligibility for in-state tuition.

To be eligible, in general, students must:
1) Have attended a Colorado high school for three years right before graduating.
2) Be admitted to a participating college within twelve months of graduating high school.
3) Sign an affidavit stating they are currently seeking legal status, or will seek it as soon as eligible. The affidavit is part of applying for the College Opportunity Fund.

If a student did not go to college within twelve months of graduating or getting a GED, they must prove they have lived in Colorado for eighteen months before college application.

Colorado ASSET did not make undocumented students eligible for financial aid, but here is a list of scholarships that may be helpful.
